If I were a book, this is my title:
A Better Next
The Blessings of Adversities
My story in a nutshell:
Embracing new beginnings. Trying again to conquer fear. Not giving up. The one who falls and gets up stronger, braver and bolder to face life’s challenges.
Things I want people to know about me:
I’m a daughter who’s supporting my parents and I’m a mother of two boys whom I long for daily. I’ve faced many challenges including a broken marriage, family issues, difficulty with employers, adjusting to a new country and culture, overcoming stereotypes. My kids inspire me to step forward and not give up. I strongly believe in God who could turn my life to be a better next in every situation. I was once treated like a slave and emotionally tortured and damaged. But now I’m living and working with an amazing employer. There are overflowing blessings after hardships. I am passionate about living a healthy life to improve my physical, mental and spiritual well-being so that I could be a blessing to others.
An Assumption I most want to correct:
I have been through a lot of discrimination because our job is considered unskilled. I’ve been overworked on weekdays and forced to work on my day off. I’ve faced mistreatment and verbal abuse, worked under unreasonable expectations that caused me stress, anxiety and depression. We deserve fair, humane treatment, MDWs are professionals. In fact, some are degree holders. My wish for all MDWs is to be free to express ourselves, show our hidden talents and special skills. We are not just cleaners.
