At PathFinders, we love working with young people and watching them develop and grow!
Every year we are so fortunate to have the support of many amazing interns to work together to support and empower the MDW communities that we serve.
Blanche Vende, a Grade 9/troisième student at the French International School, is our most recent intern. During her internship in February, she demonstrated her passion and commitment to bringing positive changes to people’s lives.
Let’s hear what Blanche has to say about her internship:
“My internship at PathFinders was an incredibly rewarding experience. Although it lasted only one week, I gained valuable insights and developed a deeper understanding of both the challenges faced by migrant domestic workers and how a non-governmental organization (NGO) worked. This opportunity allowed me to witness firsthand the dedication and compassion that drive the organization and its mission.
During my time at PathFinders, I had the privilege of meeting a number of inspiring people. Each person I encountered was not only kind but also deeply committed to the shared goal of making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. They took the time to clearly explain their roles and the impact of their work, which helped me appreciate the efforts required to support migrant domestic workers in Hong Kong.
This experience provided me with a clearer understanding of the struggles faced by this community, as well as the opportunities available to them through the support of organizations like PathFinders. I was able to observe how the team works to provide comprehensive assistance and ensure that these workers receive the best possible help.
Overall, my internship at PathFinders was an eye-opening and enriching experience. It not only deepened my awareness of important social issues but also highlighted the power of empathy and collaboration in driving positive change. I am grateful for the opportunity to have been part of such impactful work, even for a short time.”
