We were thrilled to join the Forum on Enhancing Sexual Healthcare of Migrant Domestic Workers (MDWs) in Hong Kong on 2nd April 2025 organised by the Department of Social and Behavioural Sciences of the City University of Hong Kong, together with amazing organisations including Rainlily, AIDS Concern and Mission for Migrant Workers.
In Hong Kong, MDWs encounter significant barriers in accessing sexual and reproductive healthcare and rights. Despite legal protections against discrimination, sexual harassment, and insufficient maternity care, enforcement of these laws is insufficient.
The forum discussed the numerous challenges faced by MDWs and potential strategies to better safeguard and promote the rights and well-being of MDWs by enhancing collaboration among stakeholders.
A special shout-out to our incredible Ambassadors, Anik and Mardy, who took the opportunity to share their personal experiences living and working as MDWs in Hong Kong as well as our important work to promote sexual-reproductive health within the MDW community.
