On 8th September 2024, we hosted our first Women’s Health Fair for Migrant Domestic Workers (MDWs) in collaboration with Beth Wright, Free Periods Hong Kong, Mission for Ethnic Minorities’ Sexual Health (MESH), Social Justice for Migrant Workers, Phenomenally Pink, Peduli Kasih, Uplifters and LUÜNA – who supported education and conversations on key topics like sexual health, contraceptives,  pregnancy, menopause, mental health, breast and cervical cancer screening, as well as mental health in partnership with MDW Recharge and Body Banter.

At PathFinders, one of our core values is CARE, and the importance of caring for ourselves first so we can effectively care for others. Our MDW community spares no effort in caring for their employers and their families, as well as loved ones back home – but they can’t do this to the best of their ability if they don’t take care of themselves first.

Unbelievably many health services aren’t available or accessible to MDWs – including being closed on a Sunday, the only day off for many. We really must do better at serving the 10% of our workforce that enable thousands of dual income households in Hong Kong.
