Last Sunday, PathFinders hosted an outreach booth in Victoria Park, Causeway Bay. This was part of Pesta Rakyat, a community event organised by the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia to commemorate the 73rd Anniversary of Indonesian Independence.
Despite the heat, over 500 women came along to speak with our team and learn more about PathFinders’ work. We also distributed information kits containing further educational materials for crisis prevention.
With the number of migrant women living and working in Hong Kong increasing on a daily basis, an important part of PathFinders’ work is to raise awareness about the rights of migrant workers and to ensure that all women know who they can turn to for help should they find themselves in need.
In an effort to reach out to all areas of the migrant community, PathFinders holds outreach events like this on multiple occasions throughout the year and in various locations around Hong Kong.
Thank you to the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia for inviting us to be a part of such a successful event, and to all the women who took the time to speak with us!
